We Whine Like little Babies

I agree with Walsh's argument because we pick the little things in life to whine and fuss over.

We do this because we're too sensitive. We're like whinny little babies. We always have to make a big deal about every single thing.

If someone were to walk up to a black person and say "hey where's your family from?" Some might find it offense and go to the extreme with how they respond to this. They'd think the person was trying to offend them when really they were just being curious. You really only have two choices in how you take in what someone says. 1. You could take it as " hey he means not harm or hey she means no harm."  and move on. Or 2. "Hey this person is being mean to me on purpose. We have a problem." Depending on how you take it what someone says, determines if you'll be offended or not.

For example I went to my room after coming in the house from band rehearsal and my door's open. My mom yells " how was school today?!" from the kitchen and I yell back " it was okay!"  She didn't hear me so I yelled louder but I chopped my words up and she got mad at me because she thought I was yelling at her, when only I was speaking louder for her to hear me. If there's a point in time in which we feel offended, we as the individuals don't know how to address the problem, fix it, and walk away. We always feel the need to drag everyone else in and then it becomes this worldwide controversy thing.

On Friday my band director told us that we can no longer sing the Lord's Prayer, because there were people in our district who were of different religions complaining that they were offended.  Singing the Lord's Prayer before football games and competitions is tradition. We've always done it. If you don't wanna sing or if you're not religious or whatever the case may be, you don't have to sing. There are people in our band program who don't sing when we sing the Lord's Prayer and they're not look at in a  certain way. It's not like we're gonna look at you and say "ooo you're not singing." I don't know if they feel offended because they can't participate in the singing portion or what. We've always had conflicts between differences in religions. Always. Why choose to point it out now?  All I know is that stuff like this doesn't make any sense. It shows how immature we can be.

  1. Your ideas here are sound, and the writing shows clarity. I wonder if your argument would be stronger if you remembered to use reasons first, and the support those reasons with examples. You kind of did that on the first body paragraph, but in the second you jumped right to the example. Think about that for next time. 4
